Artist Statement

The un-toured landscape.

On the fringes of ours cities there exists a new topography of buildings. They are the
corporate suburbia. When these areas become unoccupied they form a manmade
wilderness. Wandering through these areas I often find unappreciated spectacle of
happenstance, both alluring and luminous. My interest lies in this happenstance and
vacancy; the small traces left from daytime occupation. Their isolation and structural
function hold at once an elegance and horror when witnessed in solitude. I have entered a
place that I am not meant to occupy. In trespassing this boundary, I chart un-discovered
parts of our cities.
